vista s terrible installation

vista's terrible installation

first of all its not an error with the dvd as i had one mailed to me from microsoft and i still get the same effects as with the iso's i downloaded and burned. also installing it with an iso from xp is not an option. it boots from the cd just fine but there seems to be some error with the display. somtimes i cant even see whats on the list where you choose language and keyboard layout. sometimes you also cant see the the font on the next button. on really bad occasions i cant even click the next button. but when i am able to it goes to the install now menu which sometimes also has some display errors. and everytime i click install now it either does nothing or it gives me an error that i cant read due to more display errors. if i click the box given it takes me back to the previous screen. clicking install now again leads to the same result though alot of times the shape of the error box changes. it even changes positions on screen sometimes (note the background displays just fine it seems to be a problem with just the windows). very rarely im able to read the error which says "The file Wdsutil.dll could not be loaded or is corrupt. Setup cannot continue. error code is [126]" any ideas?

Well, since most of the issues you are experiencing have something to do with looking at something, perhaps the problem is with your graphics card.

You actually read his post? I took one look and ignored it.

I had the same error message. This went away when I installed adequate memory. I was using 256MB, Vista quoted as needing 512 minimum. I added 512MB. Installation then proceeded untill it reached the stage where I had to choose a disk: none shown. I then had to scrabble around to find ide drivers, that's the first Windows install that I have ever had to do that with! Vista install is copying files right now; I wait with baited breath!
